Topics: David will demonstrate the tools in Civil 3D 2010 for transportation engineering including criteria based design, alignments, profiles and sections. We will look closely at corridor design and difficult geometry such as cul-de-sacs, intersections, and interchanges. We will also look at exporting the design for stakeless construction and visualization tools in C3D, Google Earth, and 3ds Max Design. Civil 3D 2010 brings the power of BIM to the engineering community.

Bio: David Blanchette is a Technical Specialist focusing on the AutoCAD Civil 3D and Vault applications. He joined the Autodesk team in February 2000 after completing his Masters of Science Degree in Information Technology, spending his first 5 years at Autodesk working on the Civil 3D Development team in Quality Assurance. Prior to joining Autodesk Dave worked in the Civil Engineering industry for 15 years in various capacities including CAD Technician, CAD Team Lead, Civil Designer, and finally GIS Manager. While in industry Dave spent about equal time working on Transportation Engineering projects such as the Central Artery in Boston and Land Development projects such as Lowes, Target, and Kohls.

2010 Upgrades Available for Download by Subscription Users This year, for the first time, Autodesk® Subscription customers will have the option of downloading their product upgrades directly from Subscription Center. As soon as the 2010 products are released, they will be available for download on Subscription Center, before DVDs are shipped. As products are released throughout the year, subscription customers will be able to download both 2009 and 2010 versions. Customers who choose to download can also request a DVD.
