Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Two years of experience including horizontal and vertical design of streets, grading, and utilities.
  • Possession of Certificate of Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California or the ability to obtain registration within one year.
  • Ability to complete all designs in AutoCAD Civil 3D .
  • Computer skills required include AutoCad Civil 3D; LDD; Civil Design software (2000 or higher); Microsoft Office Suite (2000 or higher).
  • Autodesk Certification a plus.
  • Possession of a valid California Class C Driver’s License.

    Job Mission
    As a member of the design studio, the drafter will draw complete design packages. Design packages include floor plans showing device locations, device elevations, single line and riser diagrams showing the inter-relationship of devices, and device details. The drafter works in cross functional teams with project managers, design engineers, and application engineers.

    Qualifications

    • Certification in AutoCAD R14
    • Experience in low voltage systems, electrical, mechanical, or allied trades.
    • Experience with standard productivity tools, such as web browsers, MS Office, etc
    • Experience with 3D modeling a plus
    • Experience with electrical concepts a plus

    Duties

    • Draw device locations in plan
    • Draw device elevations
    • Draw device details
    • Create schedules as needed
    • Plot packages as needed
    • Store and maintain drawings in shared drives
    • Assure drawings have backups
    • Receive backgrounds from clients, clean up drawing elements in preparation for our drawings and place on our title sheets.

    Project Assistant

    • Order Lumber and enter in Woodpro
    • Order Hardware and enter in Woodpro
    • Enter RFI's in Fieldwire
    • Load plans and update Fieldwire
    • Review and Update management on anything major found in Raken
    • Update SiteDocs
    • Understand/learn PreBuilt(eventually do take offs for lumber)
    • Manage Safety Program
      • Monitor Safety Certificates to ensure new training is completed before expiration dates
      • Enter and Maintain HRIS system to track Safety training
      • Monitor Raken and notify management of any major events
      • Review reports from PGM Safety and follow-up with the construction staff on any hazards
      • Work with Field Construction Team to ensure all Safety inspections are completed and submitted for Forklifts, Ladders, Scaffolding, Fall Protection Equipment, Power Cords, etc.
      • Produce Safety Topics to be sent with Payroll weekly for Tailgate discussions and ensure sign-in to the Tailgate meetings are returned and recorded with the safety documentation for the project
    • Work with HR Administrator to correct any trends in Workers Compensation Cases
    • Assist Field Construction Team as needed in submitting all payroll for project
    • Other duties as assigned

    Required / Preferred Skills

    • Strong computer skills and ability to adapt to new programs easily
    • Willingness to learn new things and adapt easily to changing procedures
    • Strong communication skills in both English, both written and verbal (bi-lingual Spanish preferred)
    • Understanding of how buildings are built and knowledge of how to read Blueprints
    • Prefer knowledge of lumber products and multi-family framing
    • Prefer understanding of Cal-OSHA rules
    • Must like working in an office environment on a computer, but also willing to visit jobsites as needed (very little travel but it will happen from time to time) Most of our work is in the Bay Area, Sacramento area, and sometimes in North/West Nevada
